Happy Birthday!

It has been another busy year.

Responses to the invitations for the neuroimaging sub-study (Insight 46) and cardiac sub-study (MyoFit46) clinic visits have been very positive. A big thank you to everyone who has taken part, especially everyone who had to deal with the train strikes! Your commitment is greatly appreciated and the information you have kindly provided will help us to better understand brain and heart ageing. Details about these studies are provided within this newsletter.

Also, thank you to everyone who has completed the postal questionnaire. The data are being used to investigate many different areas including sleep, mental health, pain and exercise.

In the past year, we held an Advisory Panel meeting of NSHD study members. We discussed a ‘Cost of Living’ questionnaire to try and capture study members’ experiences in the current climate. The suggestions from the study members were very helpful in shaping this. For more information, see the section Cost of Living Questionnaire.

We also discussed developing a potential project for study members to talk about their life and experiences. The design of this project is still being finalised.

For the upcoming year, we are working hard to roll out a home visit. This will be similar to the one which occurred in 2015 and there is more information on the section Home Visit 2023.

I wish you all the best for 2023 and thank you for your continuing support of the NSHD.
